Job summary
JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Protection and Control Design Engineer in Glasgow to design HV substation protection and control systems and deliver protective schemes for transmission and distribution projects.
The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience, with strong relay settings knowledge and experience with ETAP/DIgSILENT/EPLAN. Excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience designing HV Substation Protection & Control systems.
- Strong knowledge of protection schemes, relay settings and interlocking.
- Experience across transmission and distribution projects.
- Knowledge of SCADA, substation automation and IEC 61850.
- Experience producing schematics, drawings and technical documentation.
- Understanding of transformers, switchgear, busbars and HV equipment.
- Experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT, EPLAN, Helinks or similar.
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning and troubleshooting would be advantageous.
