Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Protection and Control Design Engineer in Glasgow to design HV substation protection and control systems and deliver protective schemes for transmission and distribution projects.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience, with strong relay settings knowledge and experience with ETAP/DIgSILENT/EPLAN. Excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience designing HV Substation Protection & Control systems.
• Strong knowledge of protection schemes, relay settings and interlocking.
• Experience across transmission and distribution projects.
• Knowledge of SCADA, substation automation and IEC 61850.
• Experience producing schematics, drawings and technical documentation.
• Understanding of transformers, switchgear, busbars and HV equipment.
• Experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT, EPLAN, Helinks or similar.
• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting testing, commissioning and troubleshooting would be advantageous.
