Job summary

CMDP+ seeks an HV Co-ordinator to securely deliver water and waste programmes. You will oversee electrical safety during construction and commissioning, ensuring compliance with statutory regs and industry standards.

You’ll report to Designated Individuals and act as the regional H&S focal point for electrical safety. Responsibilities include administering safety rules, supervising LV safety, providing technical support, managing subcontractors, and ensuring proper competence for permit issuers.

Qualifications

• 10 years on-site experience in electrical installation
• Minimum 2 years as Authorising Engineer or Authorised Person
• HND/HNC/C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of BS7671 and BS7430
• IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition certification
• Good understanding of UK health and safety legislation and risk assessment
• Knowledge of PUWER, COSHH and EAWR 1989

Responsibilities

• Administers electrical safety rules and updates rules for changes in regulations and industry standards
• Monitors LV Electrical Safety Rules and communicates amendments to Responsible Persons
• Provides technical and quality support for Projects, M&E, and Site Managers
• Manages M&E subcontractors to meet safety, quality and design requirements
• Acts as central figure supporting CMDP’s H&S team on electrical safety
• Ensures appropriate level of Permit issuers and identifies specialist activities
• Participates in hazard studies and ensure critical hold points are in the programme
• Engages with stakeholders for Safe Systems of Work (Hydraulics, ATEX/DSEAR)
• Attends Parent Company Authorising Engineer review panels
• Works with SHEQ on incident investigations and lessons learnt
• Provides guidance on electrical construction and contracting delivery
• Oversees documentation, inspection and testing procedures
• Reviews and inputs into the quality plan
• Conducts Authorized Person audits
• Supports procurement in competence vetting of supply chain partners
• Works with supply chains on quality management and certification forms
• Contributes to commissioning quality
• Provides feedback to Framework Commissioning Manager on challenges
• Delivers technical bulletins, toolbox talks and incident responses
• Identifies training requirements for key project players
• Supports interviewing, training, competence assessments and appointment of Authorised Persons
