Job summary

NATS is the UK’s leading air navigation service provider. The role leads up to five significant Human Factors projects, ensuring delivery on time, cost and quality while coordinating with external peers under the Head of HF Delivery.

You will build relationships with customers and technical peers, reflect requests in SAP, and deliver complex tasks with rigour, guided by NATS processes and Safety Management Manual.

Qualifications

• BSc in Human Factors or a related discipline (Psychology, Biomechanics, or similar).
• MSc in Human Factors or a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Significant work experience in the Human Factors area, of particular relevance in safety Critical industries.
• Registered member from a recognised institute within the Human Factors disciplines such as CIEHF or BPS; or demonstrate equivalence through experience.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and influence change within mixed discipline teams (e.g. ATCOs, HF specialists, numerical analysts, and engineers)
• Proven ability to lead projects and deliver and implement solutions to demanding time scales and customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with programme customers and stakeholders.
• Work with technical peers to ensure efficient and effective delivery while meeting customers’ needs.
• Ensure SAP accurately reflects customer requests for all work in their project(s).
• Deliver technical work to meet the agreed programme requirements.
• Ensure adherence to NATS processes (BMS, SMS).
• Provide ad-hoc Human Factors expertise to customers and project activities as required.
• Scope, plan, design, implement and report on complex technical tasks with minimal guidance.
• Identify conflicts and escalations and raise them appropriately.
• Complete assigned tasks within timescales with quality and customer satisfaction.
• Respond to queries and update customers with minimal guidance.
• Champion the HF team internally and externally and build an extended network.
• Coach and mentor junior team members on technical and non-technical work.
• Apply Design Thinking methodologies in HF Processes.
