Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Consultant in Human Factors to lead HF and Ergonomics work packages for clients across high-hazard industries in the UK. You will provide technical leadership, drive complex programmes, and nurture trusted client relationships while supporting growth of the HF capability.

The role offers collaboration across Nuclear, Rail, Defence, Infrastructure, and Energy Transition sectors with opportunities for mentoring and professional development within a hybrid

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Human Factors, Applied Psychology, or related discipline.
• Experience leading HF work packages and engaging effectively with clients in high-hazard or regulated industries.
• Proven expertise in applying HF methods, standards, and guidance to project outcomes.
• Excellent communication, report-writing, and presentation skills for translating complex info.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Human Factors and Ergonomics work packages for clients.
• Provide technical leadership across complex programmes of work.
• Coordinate and manage technical delivery in line with project programmes.
• Act as the Human Factors technical lead on projects and programmes.
• Lead and contribute to AtkinsRéalis bids, proposals and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Nuclear, Rail, Defence, Infrastructure and other Energy Transition sectors.
