Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to join the Highways CPS team. Based near Dartford, Leatherhead or South Mimms, you will mentor HSW advisors, champion safety, and drive local HSW standards across site operations.

You will oversee training delivery, audit HSW systems, review incidents and prepare performance reports for management. The role requires IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications, a CSCS card and flexible hours including nights & weekends.

Qualifications

• Membership of IOSH or equivalent.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• Current CSCS Card.
• Clean, full driving licence.
• Able to maintain regular night-time and weekend presence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day management, guidance and mentoring to HSW advisors.
• Be a visible champion for HSW across the project with operatives and managers.
• Oversee implementation of Organisational Standards relating to HSW at local level.
• Monitor communications strategy to keep HSW on the operational agenda.
• Support delivery of HSW training based on project needs.
• Support/undertake inspections of HSW management system and audits.
• Manage diary and stakeholder communications for inspections and HSW conversations.
• Prepare reports and presentations detailing performance data on findings.
• Represent Health, Safety & Well-being during calls and meetings.
• Review work activities against safety systems and advise on actions.
• Support incident investigations with corrective actions tracked to close out.
