Job summary

Ledwood Engineering is recruiting an experienced HSE Manager to join our team at Hinkley Point C, Somerset. This senior leadership role involves overseeing all project Health, Safety and Environmental arrangements, managing HSE personnel, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvement across a major nuclear construction project.

Working pattern: 10 days on / 4 days off, 11-hour shifts. Contract duration: ASAP until approximately 2029.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent recognised HSE qualification.
• Significant HSE experience in construction, engineering or another high-risk environment.
• Previous experience leading and managing HSE teams.
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and environmental requirements.
• Proven experience in audits, inspections and HSE reporting.
• Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills.
• Demonstrable continuous professional development.
• Eligible to work in the UK and able to meet BPSS and DBS clearance requirements.
• Nuclear or major project experience and Chartered/Certified IOSH membership are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all project Health, Safety and Environmental arrangements.
• Manage HSE personnel and provide leadership to the HSE team.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement across a major nuclear construction project.
• Lead audits, inspections, incident investigations and HSE reporting.
