Job summary

The Health, Safety and Environmental Manager role sits within a growing food and drink manufacturer in Shepton Mallet. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape HSE strategy for this site and support daily operations.

You will manage one direct report, coaching and developing the HSE Coordinator while engaging staff to strengthen safety culture and drive improvements across the site.

Qualifications

• Senior, hands-on health, safety and environmental leadership in manufacturing.
• Strong influencing ability and proactive safety culture development.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members and staff across functions.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety across a single, complex site and support daily operations.
• Manage one direct report (HSE Coordinator) through coaching and development.
• Advise senior leaders, strengthen ownership of operational risks and address compliance issues.
• Lead ESG agenda, environmental reporting, carbon accounting and wider ESG strategy.
• Establish HSE training and competence framework and report performance to senior leaders.
