Job summary

BYD EUROPE is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to own Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across our UK BESS projects. You will develop robust HSE systems, lead audits, and drive a proactive safety culture across multiple sites.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in HSE management within energy sectors, NEBOSH certification, and travel across the UK. A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in an HSE management role within utility-scale renewables or grid-scale energy projects.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Diploma required.
• Knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM 2015 essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSE management systems for high-voltage BESS projects.
• Lead site audits, inspections, and RAMS/SSoW reviews across multiple locations.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Act as primary HSE contact for clients, investors, regulators, and auditors.
• Mentor junior HSE personnel and promote a safety-first culture.

NEBOSH National General Certificate

Strong knowledge of CDM 2015
