Senior HR Officer

Main purpose of the job:
Supports the implementation and management of the HR Strategy in the company, through staff and payroll administration in accordance with current employment law, administrative support for employees, and recruitment processes. Works with a business partner mentality across operations and support functions, actively participating and coaching on a range of complex HR issues. Fosters a continuous improvement mentality to increase employee engagement, retention, and morale, aiming to become an employer of choice, with diverse and inclusive policies and initiatives, supporting the local community.

Main missions and results:

  1. Serve as the main point of contact for the HR Manager, ensuring key deliverables are reported.
  2. Manage assigned areas and projects with accurate and timely information.
  3. Coach and mentor direct reports and support team members for cross-functional training and best practice sharing.
  4. Drive culture change and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  5. Support operational needs to ensure accurate headcount according to RTO and budget requirements.
  6. Manage absence including short-term and long-term, support employees, and facilitate reviews.
  7. Cover for the HR Manager and support the HR team as needed.
  8. Lead key projects within the HR function aligned with departmental and business strategies.
  9. Investigate absence reduction initiatives working with occupational health.
  10. Monitor headcount, turnover, and absence trends.
  11. Oversee onboarding and offboarding programs.
  12. Review and update HR policies for efficiency and alignment with business needs.
  13. Continuously upskill through external resources, including updates on employment law.
  14. Support data input in HRIS and report deviations for corrective actions.
  15. Achieve operational KPIs.
  16. Ensure compliance with union agreements and employment law, supporting plant teams.
  17. Support the annual performance review process.
  18. Assist with site communication.
  19. Manage payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance, including work hours, absences, and overtime.
  20. Ensure employee documents are accurate and GDPR compliant.
  21. Prepare HR reports and personal documents such as contracts and termination letters.
  22. Coordinate recruitment processes with department managers.
  23. Support learning and development initiatives aligned with site strategy.
  24. Promote HSE standards and strive for improvements.
  25. Lead by example in upholding the company's code of conduct.
  26. Participate in operational meetings and CSR activities.
  27. Enhance HR communication across the business.
  28. Facilitate business surveys and support ideation processes.
  29. Support Kaizen activities where applicable.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in automotive production HR or extensive HR experience.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification (minimum).
  • Intermediate Excel skills for data comparison and reporting.
  • Experience in change management and enforcing HR best practices in fast-paced manufacturing.
  • Proven experience managing complex ER cases and mentoring team leads.
  • Experience in monitoring and driving absence initiatives.
  • Experience with HR KPIs and improvement activities.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
