Job summary

Tate is recruiting an HR Consultant focused on job evaluations in Bristol. The role supports fair, consistent evaluation processes, advises managers on grading outcomes, and helps develop evaluation frameworks. You will use workforce data to inform pay decisions and ensure practices meet legal standards.

The position is mostly remote with weekly attendance at the Bristol office, offering a £47,665 per annum salary and a permanent, full-time contract.

Qualifications

Significant local authority expertise is essential.
Significant experience of undertaking GLPC evaluations is essential.
Experience with complex or disputed evaluations is desirable but not essential.
Solid HR experience including policy development and/or casework.
Good understanding of employment law and HR best practice.

Responsibilities

Lead and support job evaluation activity, ensuring roles are assessed fairly and consistently.
Advise managers on role design, grading outcomes and job evaluation processes.
Support the maintenance and development of job evaluation frameworks and documentation.
Use role and workforce data to inform pay, grading and organisational decisions.
Ensure employment practices remain fair, accessible and aligned with legislation and good practice.
Utilise insight and workforce information to support decision‑making and EQIAs.
Review and develop HR policies for clarity, fairness and compliance.
Support organisational projects requiring HR or policy expertise.
Act as a key HR link with managers to promote fair people practices.
Contribute to learning resources and training for people management.
