Job summary

4Recruitment Services Ltd in Sheffield is recruiting an experienced HR Consultant to join Sheffield City Council’s HR Service. You will partner with managers to deliver expert employee relations guidance, organisational change, workforce planning, and HR policy development in a large public sector organisation.

The role is a 1-year fixed-term contract, 37 hours per week, 9:00am-5:00pm, with a salary of £47,181 per annum.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior HR Advisory, HR Consultant, or HR Business Partner role.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
• Experience supporting managers in a large, complex organisation, ideally public sector.
• Experience of organisational change, policy development, and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert HR advice across employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, restructuring, and consultation processes.
• Support managers through organisational change initiatives and workforce planning.
• Deliver risk-based HR consultancy aligned with policies and employment law.
• Develop and review HR policies and people management practices.
• Build relationships with managers, unions, and stakeholders to promote positive employee relations.
• Mentor colleagues and provide technical HR guidance.
