Job summary

Capital One in London invites a Senior HR Business Partner to translate business needs into people strategies, shaping culture and driving growth. You will report to Head of HRBP & DIB and act as a strategic advisor across a hybrid London-Nottingham presence.

Lead workforce planning, partner with senior leaders, and champion Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging while delivering key HR initiatives, performance management, and leadership development across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of senior HRBP experience in global, 1,000+ employee organisations.
• Experience partnering with technology client groups in professional services.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to derive strategic insights from data.
• CIPD Level7 or MSc in Human Resources.

About the role

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will translate business needs and objectives into wider people initiatives and talent strategies. Reporting directly to the Head of HRBP & Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB), you will act as a strategic advisor, navigating a changing environment to influence the business within a wider enterprise context. You will play a pivotal role in shaping culture, driving organisational growth, and planning for learning, talent, and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic consulting to deliver robust workforce planning and a progressive HR strategy aligned with core business priorities.
• Build effective, collaborative partnerships across the business as a trusted coach, challenger, and “uncomfortable companion” to senior leaders.
• Champion organisational development, design, and change‑management initiatives to enable business growth.
• Cultivate a culture of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) while executing key HR initiatives across performance management, leadership development, and succession planning.
• Partner with the broader HRBP team to share insights, solve complex problems, and lead cross‑functional, enterprise‑wide HR projects.

Qualifications & Experience

• 7+ years of senior HRBP experience in global, medium‑to‑large organisations (1,000+ employees) with a stable career history.
• Background in professional services (e.g., finance, law) and experience partnering directly with technology client groups.
• Exceptional matrix stakeholder management skills, able to build relationships with senior stakeholders and navigate complex environments.
• Strong analytical capability to manipulate data, derive insights, and deliver strategic recommendations.
• Fully CIPD Level7 qualified and/or holds an MSc in Human Resources.

Location & Working Conditions

This is a permanent position based in our London office. You will travel to our Nottingham office as needed. We embrace a hybrid approach: three days a week in the office (Tuesday‑Thursday) and work‑from‑home on Monday and Friday.
