Job summary

Shape People partner with an ambitious Not-for-Profit organisation undergoing transformation. They seek a Senior HR Advisor to work alongside the General Manager, delivering expert HR operations, L&D and workforce capability in a standalone capacity.

You will lead recruitment across multiple vacancies, develop HR policies, support managers through change, and ensure compliant, practical people practices while driving a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

  • Proven standalone HR advisory experience.
  • Extensive recruitment lifecycle experience across multiple vacancies.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, transformation or service improvement programmes.
  • Experience developing and delivering training and learning initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and coaching skills.
  • Ideally, experience supporting HR projects.
  • Confidence to work independently while influencing senior managers.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organisation's HR function in a standalone capacity.
  • Support recruitment campaigns, job advertising, sourcing, interviewing and onboarding.
  • Develop and embed HR policies, procedures and employment documentation.
  • Partner with managers to provide practical HR advice on employee relations and performance.
  • Design and coordinate learning and development aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, reporting and workforce metrics.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and help foster a positive culture.
  • Work with senior leaders to build management capability and improve performance.

Job description

Job Title: Senior HR Advisor

Our client is an ambitious and growing, Not for Profit organisation undergoing an exciting period of organisational transformation. They are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior HR Advisor to work alongside the General Manager, providing expert support across HR operations, L&D/Organisational development and workforce capability.

This is a hands-on, standalone HR role, ideal for someone who enjoys building effective people practices, leading recruitment campaigns and supporting managers through change.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead the organisation's HR function, managing the full employee lifecycle while helping to embed a high-performance culture. You will play a key role in attracting talent, developing managers, supporting organisational change and ensuring HR policies and processes are compliant, practical and people-focused.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support organisational change, restructuring and transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with managers to provide practical HR advice on employee relations, performance management, absence, wellbeing and capability.
  • Develop and deliver workforce planning, succession planning and talent acquisition strategies.
  • Design and coordinate learning and development programmes aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, including advertising, candidate sourcing, interviewing and onboarding.
  • Review and improve HR policies, procedures and employment documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, reporting and workforce metrics.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and help develop a positive organisational culture.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to build management capability and improve organisational performance.
About You

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in a standalone HR Advisory role.
  • Extensive experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle across multiple vacancies.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, transformation or service improvement programmes.
  • Experience developing and delivering training and learning initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and coaching skills.
  • Ideally, you will have experience of supporting with HR Projects
  • The confidence to work independently while influencing senior managers.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ideally you'll also have
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or suitably qualified through experience
  • Experience within supported housing, housing, health, social care or another regulated sector (Desirable, but not essential)
  • Experience implementing or improving HR systems and processes.
