Job summary

Gallagher is seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our Corporate Functions on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Glasgow, UK. You will deliver high-quality HR advice to managers and staff, handling employee relations, restructurings, and annual HR processes with a focus on practical solutions and compliance.

You’ll coach managers, manage complex cases, produce HR data reports, and collaborate across teams to ensure consistent high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in employee relations and case management.
• Expert advice on HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
• Skilled communicator able to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting restructuring activities, office closures, or relocations, including consultations and employee support.
• Comfortable working with data, producing reports, and using tools like Excel to track and monitor casework.
• Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative, with a focus on helping people succeed.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert HR advice and support to managers and employees, ensuring best practices are followed and business needs are met.
• Manage complex employee relations cases, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance, and sickness, with clear guidance on policies and employment law.
• Coach and mentor managers to build confidence and enhance people management skills.
• Lead restructuring activities, office closures, and relocations by supporting consultations and documenting processes.
• Support annual HR processes, including performance management, pay reviews, and benefits enrolment.
• Collaborate with colleagues across teams to deliver a seamless and high-quality HR service.
• Produce and analyse HR data reports to support decision-making.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR services.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior HR Advisor to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting our Corporate Functions teams. In this role, you will deliver high-quality HR advice and support to managers and employees, with a focus on driving best practices and implementing commercially aligned solutions. With a strong emphasis on employee relations, you will manage complex cases, support restructuring initiatives, and oversee key annual HR processes, ensuring effective and professional outcomes.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Provide expert HR advice and support to managers and employees, ensuring best practices are followed and business needs are met.
• Manage complex employee relations cases, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance, and sickness, while offering clear guidance on policies, procedures, and employment law.
• Coach and mentor managers to build their confidence and enhance their people management skills, enabling them to handle HR matters effectively.
• Lead restructuring activities, office closures, and relocations by supporting consultations, preparing documentation, and guiding employees through the process.
• Support annual HR processes, including performance management, pay reviews, and benefits enrolment, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with colleagues across teams to deliver a seamless and high-quality HR service, ensuring continuity and consistency.
• Produce and analyse HR data reports to support decision-making and track casework effectively.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance HR services and processes.

About You

• You have strong experience in employee relations and case management, with a proven ability to handle complex and sensitive cases.
• You’re confident in providing expert advice on HR policies, procedures, and employment law to managers and employees.
• You’re a skilled communicator who can build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• You’re highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
