Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is seeking an Advanced Specialist HPC Computational Engineer to lead modelling and simulation for fusion energy research. The role combines technical leadership, software development and cutting-edge computing architectures to advance fusion science and engineering.

You will contribute to numerical methods, software design and digital twin capabilities, working across national and international programmes with a strong publication record and a track record of

Qualifications

Doctorate in computational, mathematical or physical sciences with strong publication record or significant software contributions.
Experience leading technical projects or teams in research/engineering.

Responsibilities

Lead modelling, simulation and uncertainty quantification across fusion research programmes.
Develop numerical methods and algorithms for scientific computing.
Design, develop, test and maintain advanced scientific software.
Drive deployment of new computing architectures and accelerators.
Support digital twin capabilities for fusion systems.
