UK Atomic Energy Authority’s Computing Division seeks a Deep Specialist HPC Computational Engineer to lead software capabilities for nuclear and multiphysics applications. You will drive research, collaboration and adoption of emerging technologies, while providing technical leadership and strategic direction.

The role requires a doctorate in a computational, mathematical or physical science discipline, extensive HPC experience, and a track record of high-impact publications or software

Competenze

• PhD or equivalent in computational, mathematical or physical science with strong publication record or software library contributions.
• Significant HPC experience and at least one compiled language (C++, Fortran, C, Rust) or advanced scripting languages (Julia, R, Swift Parallel Scripting).
• Experience leading distributed teams in mentoring/managing roles.

Mansioni

• Lead technical contributions to modelling, simulation and uncertainty quantification workstreams.
• Review and approve technical outputs from teams of 4–10 people.
• Oversee development of state-of-the-art software, ensuring quality standards.
