Job summary

Barnardo's is seeking a senior residential housing professional to lead the Moving On – Dispersed Houses service in Preston and Lancaster. The role requires overseeing a small team, visiting houses weekly, and ensuring safety and accommodation standards for young people aged 18–25.

You will resolve complex safeguarding issues and support residents in developing independent living skills. The role involves coordinating move ins/outs, addressing benefit issues, and assisting with social housing

Qualifications

• Experience assessing needs and risks of young people in supported accommodation.
• Safeguarding expertise within multi-agency frameworks.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a small team and housing operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the Moving On – Dispersed Houses service.
• Undertake weekly visits to each house to maintain standards and safety.
• Carry out house checks and report or chase repairs.
• Assist young people with benefit issues and social housing registration.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned move ins/outs.
• Support residents in developing independent living skills.
