Job summary

MHA is recruiting an experienced Home Manager for Fitzwarren House, Swindon, to lead a dedicated team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on involvement to ensure safety, regulatory compliance and financial sustainability.

You will develop a warm, respectful community for residents, manage care planning, safeguarding, budgeting and recruitment, and work with the Area Manager and colleagues to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as a Home Manager or senior management in care.
• Level 4 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or equivalent).
• Experience managing budgets, staffing and financial performance.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families and regulators.
• Flexible approach with occasional travel or overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide confident leadership to the home, creating a safe, caring environment.
• Lead, motivate and develop senior and wider teams, including recruitment and appraisal.
• Ensure high-quality, person-centred care meeting residents' social, physical and emotional needs.
• Oversee care planning, reviews and admissions with regulatory compliance.
• Promote residents' dignity, independence and involvement in decisions.
• Maintain safeguarding and health & safety standards, with zero tolerance for abuse.
• Take responsibility for medication management and infection prevention.
• Oversee catering, activities and volunteer involvement to enhance quality of life.
• Manage the home's financial performance and sustainability.
• Collaborate with Area Manager and colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
