Job summary

Waterman Infrastructure & Environment Ltd seeks a Senior Highways & Infrastructure Engineer to lead design and delivery of highway, drainage and related projects across the UK. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff and manage projects from concept through to construction.

The role requires strong engineering and client-facing skills, with experience in S278/S38 schemes, SuDS and buildable innovation to support development ambitions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Typically 5–10 years’ experience in highways and infrastructure engineering consultancy.
• Experience delivering residential, commercial and mixed-use development infrastructure.
• Experience of highway, drainage and levels design.
• Working knowledge of planning and development processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfoDrainage or MicroDrainage, MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of highways, drainage and infrastructure projects.
• Manage multiple projects from feasibility through to construction.
• Prepare fee proposals, programmes and resource plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across offices.
• Mentor graduate engineers and junior technicians.
• Present technical solutions to clients and stakeholders.
