Job summary

Wilde Consulting Engineers in Stockport seeks a Senior Highways Engineer (contract or permanent) to deliver feasibility studies, designs, drawings and calculations. You will manage project planning, liaise with clients and contractors, and ensure compliance with design standards including DMRB and LTN1/20. Civils 3D and MX experience is desirable.

We are keen to speak to qualified (or nearing) chartered or incorporated engineers who are passionate about delivering high-quality design solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, designs, scheme drawings and calculations; preparation of contract documents and specifications. The role will also include project planning, management and monitoring, and liaising with clients and contractors. A working knowledge of the DMRB, LTN1/20 and other current design standards is essential and use of design software including Civils 3D and/or MX is desirable.

Specific objectives include:

• Providing a consistent high level technical design service;
• Providing support, training and guidance to other staff;
• Effective client liaison and communication
• Reporting to the Highways Director
• Liaising with other discipline team leaders to ensure technical integration; and
• Financial and commercial management

Experience of working in a highway design office is essential.

• Have proven experience of working with Local Authorities
• Experienced in active travel, local road project design
• Capable of operating with minimal supervision; and
• Seeking increasing level of responsibility.
