Job summary

Corserv Group is seeking a Highway Steward to support and manage routine highways operations in Cornwall. The role involves serving as the first point of contact for public bodies and communities, and coordinating responses to highways issues.

Successful candidates will resolve routine problems, generate works packages, programme and oversee works, ensuring compliance with standards and legislation while driving continuous improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ability to work out of hours standby duties to cover highway emergencies as part of a rota.
• Valid driving licence to enable use of allocated company van.
• Health and Safety certificate and qualification or ability to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for stakeholders (public, town and parish councils) regarding highways issues.
• Resolve routine problems, identify necessary works, produce works packages, programme and oversee works to ensure compliance with standards and legislation.
• Drive continuous improvement, performance management and efficiency in highway services.
