Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking an IT Server and Storage Specialist to work in the IT department alongside the Server and Storage Lead. The role focuses on keeping systems running to agreed standards, including disaster recovery, backups and 2nd and 3rd line support.

You will manage high-availability server infrastructure, support security and testing, and participate in the Digital On Call Rota. A degree or equivalent and at least three years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years' experience in similar roles.
• Experience with high-availability server environments.
• Experience with server hardware maintenance and virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous IT service across departments and stakeholders.
• Provide specialist technical advice and expertise as a key IT resource.
• Develop disaster recovery and contingency arrangements, including testing.
• Support IT Operations with security, backup strategies and testing restores.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to Service Desk, Networks, Implementation and Development and Operations staff.
• Participate in the Digital On Call Rota.
• Assist with project rollouts and moves.
