Job summary

Irlam Associates Ltd, acting on behalf of a client, is recruiting an HGV Technician to service, inspect, diagnose and repair heavy goods vehicles. You will work to high safety standards and support fleet availability by promptly addressing faults and maintenance needs.

The role involves routine servicing, diagnostic work and repairs to commercial vehicles, with an emphasis on accuracy, efficiency and teamwork within the workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV technician or equivalent role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to safety and high workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and safety inspections on HGVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and rectify defects.
• Repair braking, suspension and steering systems as required.
• Maintain accurate inspection sheets and maintenance records.
• Work with teams to prioritise repairs and minimise downtime.
