Job summary

Interaction Recruitment PLC is seeking an Experienced Driver Trainer / Assessor to join our client’s transport operation in the Bedford area. The role focuses on coaching drivers, conducting on-road assessments and delivering classroom training to improve safety and performance.

The ideal candidate holds a Class 1 HGV licence (C+E), Driver CPC, and a recognised Driver Assessor qualification, with strong knowledge of drivers’ Hours and tachographs.

Qualifications

• Full Class 1 HGV (C+E) licence
• Minimum 5 years’ commercial driving
• Clean licence with no points
• Driver Assessor qualification
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Experience in driver training/assessments
• Knowledge of Drivers' Hours and tachographs
• Excellent communication and coaching
• Good IT skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments for drivers
• Carry out assessments after road traffic incidents
• Identify training needs and deliver retraining
• Deliver on-road and classroom Driver CPC training
• Maintain training records and driver compliance
• Collaborate with Transport, Fleet Compliance and Health & Safety teams
