Job summary

Social Work England is recruiting a Hearings Case Manager to deliver pre-hearing case management and scheduling. You will coordinate fitness to practise final hearings, manage resources, allocate work to adjudicators and legal advisers, and support the hearings team to ensure timely, fair case progression.

You will line manage hearings officers, provide guidance on listings, and collaborate with the legal services provider to meet KPIs and statutory deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hearing/tribunal or case scheduling environments is desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven leadership and people-management能力.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills for diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound judgement and ability to justify actions in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied and complex caseload and progress cases within statutory time frames.
  • Ensure hearings are listed efficiently and in accordance with standards.
  • Oversee listing processes for fairness and transparency.
  • Make robust, well-reasoned case management decisions.
  • Line manage hearings officers and support officers; provide regular supervision.
  • Support the team with complex listings and escalation when needed.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to aid case progression.
  • Support change initiatives and continuous process improvement.
