Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a healthcare professional to support a 15-bed male-only ward on a low secure unit within the Francis Willis Unit. The role involves daily patient care, performing urine analysis, phlebotomy and vital signs, with reporting to a supervising nurse.

The post requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays in a 24-hour inpatient setting. Applicants should hold the Cavendish Care Certificate (or be willing to work towards it) and NVQ

Qualifications

• Cavendish Care Certificate or willingness to work towards it, funded by the trust.
• NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent qualification.
• NVQ Level 3 in Promoting Independence or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct care to patients on the ward, a low secure unit for adults with severe and enduring mental illness and a forensic history.
• Carry out physical healthcare interventions such as urine analysis, phlebotomy, TPR and BP.
• Record findings from physical healthcare checks and inform the supervising nurse of results.
• Undertake Reducing and Restrictive Practice as required.
• Maintain clear, accurate clinical notes.
