Job description

Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 - Manor Park, Newham University Hospital

Bart's Health NHS Trust is seeking compassionate and motivated individuals for the role of Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) at Band 3, located in the Manor Park department at Newham University Hospital. This position is open to both experienced Healthcare Support Workers and those new to care.

New to care applicants will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and will be supported to progress into a Band 3 role within 6 months upon successful completion of all required competencies. Until then, the salary will be at Band 2.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Undertake delegated clinical tasks such as monitoring vital signs, assisting with personal care and mobility, and supporting nutritional and hydration needs.
  2. Perform limited delegated duties, including taking blood pressure, recording ECG, and MRSA screening.
  3. Carry out simple wound dressings.
  4. Work collaboratively within the nursing team to meet patient needs, ensuring safety and quality of care.
  5. Develop essential competencies through ongoing training and practice.
