Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking a Construction Programme Manager to lead the design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of building projects across the UK. You will work with stakeholders and project teams to meet goals, deliver quality solutions, and minimise operational disruption while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will manage budgets, oversee project managers, and drive continuous improvement across services and processes, supporting NHSBT’s mission to save and improve lives

Qualifications

• Educated to Master’s degree level or equivalent in construction or related field.
• Full Chartered membership and professional registration with RICS, CIOB or RIBA.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects and programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of a portfolio of construction projects across the NHSBT estate.
• Define project goals with stakeholders and deliver successful outcomes.
• Manage projects from inception through to completion, handover and review.
• Deliver high-quality construction solutions while minimising risk and disruption.
• Provide expert construction advice to Estates & Facilities and the wider organisation.
• Support development and continuous improvement of construction services and practices.
• Line manage project managers and support performance and development.
• Manage project budgets and produce progress and governance reports.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure CDM 2015 compliance.
