Circle Health Group's The Lancaster Hospital in Lancaster is recruiting a Senior Healthcare Assistant to join the wards on the 22.5-hour per week, permanent basis. This part-time role requires flexible shift coverage and delivers person-centred care, daily patient support and accurate record-keeping.

You should hold NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), have hospital or clinical experience, and be able to supervise junior staff.

Qualifications

• Deliver person-centred care including assisting with personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility, toileting, and emotional support.
• Carry out basic clinical tasks such as monitoring vital signs, blood glucose levels, and patient observations (following training and competency).
• Assist with clinical procedures and the preparation of equipment and materials.
• Act as a role model and mentor to junior healthcare assistants, supporting their development and integration into the team.
• Ensure a clean, well-stocked, and organised clinical area that supports effective care delivery.
• Accurately record care provided and observations in line with organisational and legal requirements.
• Maintain competence in your role and complete all required mandatory training.

Salary: Up to £27,500.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for an Senior Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff on the hospitals Wards.

This is a part time role for 22.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification/experience).


• Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting.


• Ability to carry out delegated clinical tasks safely and confidently.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to support and supervise junior staff members.
