Job summary

A leading construction company is seeking a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to oversee sites in London and the South East. This position will play a key role in ensuring the successful implementation of health and safety measures, reporting performance, and leading investigations into incidents. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in construction or related industries, hold a NEBOSH General certification, and have a proactive approach to engaging stakeholders.

Qualifications

Senior Health and Safety Advisor

Cheshunt | £50,000- £60,000+ Car Allowance & Benefits

Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a large, high profile construction company to recruit a Senior Health and Safety Advisor. The company turnover £150m and have over 50 years of operation, playing a key role in many of the UK's highest profile infrastructure projects.

This role will cover sites across the London and South East region, and is part of a much larger, tight knit health and safety team who meet regularly.

Responsibilities of the Senior Health and Safety Advisor will include:

• Working with the health and safety team and senior management, ensuring the health and safety management system is implemented successfully
• Visiting sites, auditing health and safety performance and acting as the key point of contact on health and safety
• Accurately reporting on health and safety performance and communicating this across the organisation
• Investigating major accidents and incidents

The successful Senior Health and Safety Advisor will have:

• Proven experience in a similar health and safety position ideally within construction, utilities, or civil engineering
• Experience managing health and safety on sites with deep excavations
• NEBOSH General (or equivalent) and ideally working towards Diploma
• A pragmatic approach to safety and the ability to engage and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
