Job summary

Capgemini Engineering seeks a Hardware Systems engineer to work on safety critical, defence related projects in Bath, with a hybrid role requiring 2–3 days per week in the office. You will liaise with clients to develop system requirements for safety critical, real-time embedded systems and allocate functional and safety requirements between hardware and software.

Qualifications

Degree in a relevant subject with Chartered Engineer status.
10+ years in full hardware development lifecycle for safety critical embedded defence systems.
Current SC clearance or willingness to apply.
Experience with formal methods and SCADE.
Strong safety, reliability and security considerations.
Strong customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of ADA and SPARK.
Ability to lead small teams (up to 5 people).

Responsibilities

Liaise with clients to develop system requirements for safety related/critical real-time embedded systems.
Allocate functional and safety requirements between hardware and software.
Support project safety engineers in hardware hazard analyses and mitigations.
Develop system hardware architectures and system safety arguments.
Support EMC qualification and environmental certification activities.
