Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking a Hardware Design Manager to lead a growing RTL and digital hardware team responsible for ASIC and FPGA development in the UK. The role combines technical leadership with people management and delivery against ambitious hardware roadmaps.

You will shape the engineering organisation as it scales, drive process improvements, and promote AI-assisted tooling to accelerate design flows while working closely with architects, project managers and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and growing digital hardware/RTL engineering teams.
• Strong background in ASIC and/or FPGA development.
• Experience with architecture, RTL design, and verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop RTL/Digital Hardware engineering organisation
• Manage engineering teams across multiple locations
• Recruit, mentor and develop engineers
• Provide technical leadership across ASIC/FPGA development
• Improve engineering processes, methodologies and design flows
• Drive adoption of automation and AI-assisted engineering tools
• Work closely with architects, project managers and senior stakeholders
• Support technology and product roadmap development
• Take ownership of engineering quality, performance and hardware delivery
