Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at Kings Mill Hospital, seeks a consultant in haematology with a specialist interest in myeloid and general haematology. The post involves providing both clinical and laboratory haematology services within a six-hospital system and collaborating with colleagues and management.

The role includes an on-call rota (about 1 in 6), opportunities for outpatient sessions at Newark, and the expectation of GMC registration and Royal College fellowships

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists, or evidence of equivalent qualification.
• Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, or evidence of equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and laboratory haematology services to Sherwood Forest Hospitals
• Take part in the on-call haematology service, including ward rounds and out-of-hours cover (1:6 rota currently)
• Take part in business planning of haematology services with consultant colleagues and hospital management
