Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at Kings Mill Hospital, seeks a consultant in haematology with a specialist interest in myeloid and general haematology. Job description

Consultant haematology post at Kings Mill Hospital within Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with a specialist interest in myeloid and general haematology. The consultant joins one of six haematologists delivering clinical and laboratory services, and shares business planning with colleagues and management. Based largely at Kings Mill, with possible outpatient sessions at Newark, and an on-call rota of about one in six. Fit depends on full GMC registration with a licence to practise, plus fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists.

What’s required

Registration & licences

• Full and specialist GMC registration with licence to practise, or within 6 months of CCT at interview
• Portfolio Pathway applicants on the specialist register at application

Experience

• Experience of treating patients in clinical trials
• Experience needed to meet all aspects of the job plan
• Understanding of all aspects of the specific focus of the role

Nice to have

• Publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Demonstrable ability as a teacher, with evidence of training for the role
• Five years supervised training in an appropriate higher specialist training scheme or equivalent
