Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in Barnet is seeking three substantive Consultant Haematologists to join our team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. The posts offer an opportunity to develop malignant haematology services within a supportive multidisciplinary team, with possibilities to contribute to clinical research, teaching and service improvement.

You will deliver outpatient clinics for malignant and general haematology, participate in inpatient attending and on-call rotas, and

Qualifications

• Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register (UK) with a Licence to Practise, or eligible within six months of interview.
• Experience in general and malignant haematology care, with potential for specialist interests.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outpatient clinics, including malignant haematology, chemotherapy, general haematology and urgent cancer referrals.
• Participate in inpatient attending and consultant on-call rotas.
• Contribute to cancer and departmental MDTs, providing liaison across specialties.
• Support laboratory haematology, including blood film reporting and transfusion advice.
• Contribute to clinical trials, audit, governance and service development.
• Provide teaching and educational supervision for medical students and junior doctors.

Following completion of a service review and stabilisation of the consultant workforce, these posts offer an opportunity to develop malignant haematology services within a supportive multidisciplinary team. Successful candidates will provide general and malignant haematology care, with opportunities to develop specialist interests and contribute to clinical research, teaching and service improvement.
