Job summary

Journey seeks a Senior Group Accountant to lead the finance function with a clear path to Financial Controller. Reporting to the EMEA Group Financial Controller, you will own management accounts, deliver accurate reporting, and work with leadership on group decisions.

This senior, hands-on role requires strong analytical ability, outstanding organisation, and experience in fast-paced project-based settings such as VFX, film, TV, gaming or animation.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with a recognized body.
• Strong IFRS and UK GAAP knowledge.
• Experience in a project-based business.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency.
• Experience in fast-paced environments.
• Organised and proactive.
• Collaborative team player.
• Proficient with Microsoft and Google Suite.
• Netsuite experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close across entities and provide timely financial reporting.
• Maintain intercompany accounting records and reconcile differences each month.
• Review payroll and HR journals; be the main contact for outsourced payroll and HR.
• Oversee intangible asset accounting, additions, disposals and amortisation.
• Manage corporate tax provisions; coordinate with HMRC and advisors.
• Provide variance analyses and monthly performance commentary for leadership.
• Support NetSuite and other financial tool enhancements.
• Provide auditors with schedules and analytical support.
• Partner with CFO on ad hoc finance projects and group initiatives.
• Mentor junior finance staff and build team capability.
