Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Lead Group Accountant to join its European accounting centre on a temporary, fixed-term basis. The role involves month-end accounting, journal postings, and consolidation work across IFRS and US GAAP in a multinational environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with Financial Operations, Tax, and Treasury teams to ensure accurate reporting and robust internal controls, supporting US GAAP reporting and quarterly SEC-like disclosures as needed.

Qualifications

• Accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
• Working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Proactive with experience running shared services projects to a high-quality solution.
• Strong people skills in a multinational environment; effective communicator.
• Experience with SAP and Adaptive Insights is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journals and reconciliations within the Group Financial Reporting team.
• Post journals for complex accounting areas, including IFRS-16 leases and hedging.
• Review consolidation entries and intercompany eliminations with SAP and Adaptive Insights.
• Contribute to notes for Group Consolidated Financial Statements.
• Prepare monthly cashflow for quarterly management reporting.
• Support treasury postings and reconcile TMS with SAP.
• Assist with USGAAP reporting requirements and SoX control activities.
• Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, and Financial Operations teams.
