Job summary

SKA Observatory in the UK seeks a Group Accountant to consolidate multi-currency financial reports, manage year-end processes and audits, and shape IFRS-compliant policies for a global infrastructure project.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will drive month-end reporting, asset management, revenue recognition for Member contributions and risk controls within an international finance team.

Qualifications

• CCAB accounting qualification or near-qualified with IFRS knowledge.
• Experience consolidating group financial reports across currencies.
• Experience in external audits and preparation of IFRS financial statements.
• Strong skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint for reporting.
• Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive team player in a small-medium international finance function.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly group management accounts and governance papers.
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation and year-end routines.
• Oversee revenue recognition for Member contributions and AR tasks.
• Prepare consolidated group financial statements in line with IFRS.
• Coordinate external and internal audits and provide information requests.
• Develop internal controls and document finance processes.
• Support ERP system improvements and IFRS change adaptation.
• Train staff and manage cross-border finance reporting.
