Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join the Hydrogeology Team in Tactical Asset Planning, based at the Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. You will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, delivering groundwater management strategies and supporting regulatory compliance.

You'll lead hydrogeology activities, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with regulators and stakeholders to protect groundwater resources that supply a significant portion of drinking water.

Qualifications

• Experienced hydrogeologist with MSc in Hydrogeology or related discipline.
• Proven borehole, groundwater systems and water resources experience.
• Strong knowledge of drinking water quality standards and regulatory sectors.
• Understanding of UK water industry and regulatory processes.
• Excellent communication and project planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide hydrogeological expertise to support groundwater operations, water quality and asset improvements.
• Assess groundwater quality and abstraction risks; analyze long-term trends.
• Collaborate with regulators, stakeholders and teams during drought and peak demand.
• Deliver training on groundwater and assets to staff.
• Maintain and enhance groundwater and asset data; support future planning.
