Job summary

AWE plc in Reading seeks Head of Government Delivery Agreements to own end-to-end contracting for non-principal services supporting National Security and Counter Terrorism. You will identify opportunities, develop solutions, and manage proposals through to award in alignment with Treasury and MOD policies.

The role requires senior commercial leadership, complex contract management, and robust stakeholder engagement across MOD, government departments, and industry partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior commercial/financial or compliance role in a large organisation.
• Experience contracting services with bid-writing and relationship management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex contracts.
• Experience negotiating contracts in a secure government environment.
• Excellent communication skills with non-specialist audiences.
• Strong governance, risk, and performance monitoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for contracting and contract management of services outside of the principal contract.
• Develops relationships with MOD, Home Office, and industry partners to extend service scope.
• Develops proposals, commercial and technical, with appropriate approvals.
• Implements contract strategies and manages performance against baselines.
• Maintains stakeholder communications on current and projected performance.
• Manages contracts from bid through close and handover.
• Leads and resolves contract disputes and ensures action plans.
• Implements Government Delivery Agreements processes and governance.
• Ensures compliance with Delegation of Authority.
• Promotes high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
