Job summary

Wheely is seeking a Mid/Senior Backend Engineer to join the Marketplace team in London. You will build high-quality Go microservices, balance supply and demand, and optimize pricing and matching for optimal chauffeur earnings and passenger wait times.

The role emphasizes TDD, DDD, and CI/CD, with a tech stack including Go, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, AWS and Kubernetes, and Terraform. Office-based with four days in the office and one remote day.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend services experience; 5+ years for senior roles.
• Strong Go proficiency or equivalent language in interviews.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and message brokers.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, Go-based microservices for the marketplace.
• Optimize latency and reliability during high load periods.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and data scientists to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Support migration from legacy systems and new feature delivery.
