Job summary

Referment is partnering with a UK fintech scale-up to design and lead high-performance Go microservices on AWS, focusing on scale, reliability, automation and security. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and shape the API surface as part of a small, collaborative team.

The role is hybrid, based in London with 2–3 days in the office and the rest from home, with involvement in hiring strategy and engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering with Go.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead the architecture of high-performance Go microservices on AWS.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and grow their craft.
• Lead technical delivery, setting and upholding standards for quality, maintainability and security.
• Drive architectural decisions across services, the data layer and API surface.
