Job summary

InterDigital, a pioneer in wireless and AI technologies, seeks a detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead a global team across multiple sites including London. Based in Finance, you will manage payroll processes for ~500 employees, ensure tax compliance, and drive automation and process improvements.

The role reports to the Director of Accounting Transactional Services and focuses on seamless payroll operations, SOX controls, and collaboration with HR, IS and GL teams to optimize payroll systems.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of payroll experience, including international/global payroll experience.
• Experience with ADP/Workforce Now and Workday HCM.
• Multi-state payroll experience.
• Strong Excel skills (filters, formulas, pivot tables, vlookups).
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet payroll deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service orientation.
• Confidentiality and discretion with employee information.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage the global payroll team across 7 countries for ~500 employees.
• Drive process efficiencies in payroll operations.
• Develop, train and coach payroll staff.
• Collaborate with HR, IS and General Ledger to ensure payroll accuracy and system integration.
• Ensure correct setup of earnings, deductions, taxes and benefits; timely fundings.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax requirements.
• Respond to tax notices with payroll providers or authorities to maintain compliance.
• Maintain SOX compliance and respond to payroll audit inquiries.
• Oversee year-end tax forms and quarterly payroll records.
• Audit payroll processes to identify improvements.
• Manage relationships with ADP and global payroll partners.
