Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a Compensation Senior Consultant to join the Enterprise Chief Operating Office (ECOO). You will advise business leaders and HR partners on compensation decisions, offering market-informed, governance-aligned solutions across base pay and incentives.

Strong analytical, consulting and influencing skills are essential. You will partner with leaders to translate compensation philosophy into practical pay outcomes, supporting workforce and talent strategies across functions

Qualifications

7+ years of compensation experience, preferably in financial services.
Strong knowledge of compensation principles and governance.
Excellent analytical, influencing and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as trusted compensation advisor for ECOO units, guiding HR partners and leaders on complex pay matters.
Develop recommendations for internal moves, retention, off-cycle adjustments, reorganizations and other pay decisions.
Translate needs into compensation solutions across base pay, short-term incentives, and variable programs.
Conduct job evaluations, leveling, market-pricing analyses, and pay recommendations; align with global job architecture and salary structures.
Facilitate compensation discussions with HR and leaders, explaining complex information clearly and building alignment.
Monitor external compensation practices and regulatory changes; assess implications and respond accordingly.
Develop executive-ready analyses and materials translating data into actionable findings and recommendations.
Lead and support the global annual compensation cycle, including planning, validation, analysis, communication and post-cycle review.
