Job summary

The American Society of Civil Engineers in Sheffield is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team. You will lead geotechnical investigations from feasibility through construction, and contribute to multidisciplinary projects with civil, structural and environmental teams.

The role requires a degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering, substantial UK consultancy experience, strong ground investigation knowledge, report writing and independent project management, plus

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Significant UK geotechnical consultancy or engineering experience.
• Strong report writing and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical investigations and produce factual/interpretative reports.
• Design and assess foundations, slopes, retaining structures and earthworks.
• Review ground investigation data and develop ground models.
• Specify and manage site investigations and related activities.
• Perform geotechnical calculations and analyses.
• Provide technical input into multidisciplinary projects and liaise with stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage project deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and other consultants.
