Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our client in Randburg to lead geotechnical investigations, analyze soil and rock properties, and design foundations for large-scale energy infrastructure projects.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, a Master’s degree, Pr. Eng registration, and frequent site visits. You will supervise fieldwork, liaise with clients and regulators, and review submittals to ensure safe, compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Professional registration (Pr.Eng) essential.
• 7+ years of geotechnical experience with energy projects.
• Proficient in geotechnical software (Plaxis, GeoStudio).
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and oversee geotechnical site investigations.
• Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater conditions.
• Design foundations for energy infrastructure.
• Mitigate geotechnical risks including slope stability and seismic hazards.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and design recommendations.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulators.
• Supervise junior engineers and field staff.
• Review contractor submittals and provide construction support.
