Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer within its Energy Unit in the UK. You will lead geotechnical design for energy projects, deliver buildable solutions to Eurocodes, and provide technical leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in civil engineering geotechnics or engineering geology or a related field.
• Chartered Engineer status ICE or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
• Experience in the energy sector (transmission, energy generation, nuclear) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of foundations and substructures for energy projects across FEED to detailed design and construction.
• Lead retaining wall systems design and 2D numerical modelling for soil-structure interaction.
• Manage small engineering teams and provide technical leadership on major projects.
• Support client liaison, risk assessments, and budgeting for projects.
