Job summary

TipTopJob in Cardiff is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical projects from ground investigation to design. You will deliver technical outputs across foundations, earthworks, slope stability, and reports for clients.

The role offers responsibility for junior engineers, client liaison, and potential progression within a well-established technical team in a leading consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology or related subject.
• Experience in geotechnical consultancy.
• Strong understanding of ground investigation and geotechnical design.
• Experience with foundation and earthworks design.
• Comfortable managing projects and liaising with clients.
• Chartered or working towards Chartership desirable.

Responsibilities

• Managing and delivering geotechnical projects from ground investigation through to design
• Undertaking geotechnical analysis and design for a range of projects
• Working on foundations, retaining structures, earthworks and slope stability
• Reviewing ground investigation information and producing interpretive reports
• Providing technical advice to clients and project teams
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other disciplines
• Preparing technical specifications, reports and fee proposals
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
• Contributing to business development and client relationships
