Job summary

Ganymede is seeking a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead major ground engineering works across the South of the UK. The role combines hands-on project delivery with team leadership, client liaison, and drive for technical excellence on complex infrastructure schemes.

You will manage project teams on site, coordinate with supply chains, and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient site operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering geotechnical works in construction/infrastructure

• Strong technical understanding of geotechnical engineering and site delivery
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer – Ground Engineering

Bristol/Somerset | Predominantly Site-Based with some Hybrid | Travel & Working Away From Home Required | up to £70,000 + Package

I'm working with a major construction and infrastructure business looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing Ground Engineering team.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll take responsibility for the safe and technically excellent delivery of geotechnical works, while developing project teams and building strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.

The Role:

• Lead and supervise the safe and efficient delivery of geotechnical works
• Manage and coordinate project teams to ensure works are delivered to a high technical standard

What You'll Need:

• Ability to work predominantly on site and travel or stay away from home as project requirements dictate
